Thomas Mann, 1947

Date read: DID NOT FINISH

I made it about halfway and to be completely honest, I've fallen asleep multiple times trying to read this novel. It is so incredibly boring that I can't force my eyes to stay open. It is just pages and pages of musical and psychosocial gobbledygook. It reminded me of the pages-long political speeches in Anna Karenina. But at least that had action between the speeches. This novel doesn't.
