This is a very strange novel. Each chapter is written by one of the various characters, or is from a history of a small town in Ukraine, or something. It goes back and forth through time telling the story of the Jews who were killed by the Nazis.

Which ofc means it is horrific and heart rending. Also, the author is obsessed with sex. Like, obsessed. It had wayyyy more dick in it than necessary.
