Sophocles, 429 BCE Date Read: 4/16/22



First of all, this isn't a novel. It's a play. So it shouldn't have been on "greatest XXX novels of all time" lists to start with.


Secondly, of course I already knew the story. How could I not?


Thirdly, I can't even comment on the writing because it is a translation of a translation of Ancient Greek.


All I can say is, it is very sad.


Length: 112 (entire book) 72 (the play itself)

Rereadability: Reading plays isn't fun for me. Also this is super sad

Classic: Must have been astounding when it was first performed.
