First of all, this title is a horrible awful cruel pun. The sun rises, [spoilers from here on] but Jake doesn't.

I don't understand why Jake and Brett cant be together despite his impotence. They're obviously in love and she needs someone she can depend on. He is that. But because they can't fuck they cant be together? That's ridiculous. Not to even mention all of the sexual things you can do without using a penis anyway.

In all this novel reminded me of the USA trilogy by John Dos Passos. I enjoyed it while also being insanely jealous at people can just travel the world to party wherever and whenever they like.
