Evelyn Waugh, 1914 Read 10/3/21

This book isn't funny. It's not well written, or clever, or any of the hype I read about it. It was racist af and really stupid. Also depressing. It was written a long time ago so I could understand if people then though it was hilarious, but I cannot imagine how anyone in the 21st Century could read this and find it anything other than childishly cruel.

Rereadability: No

Time to Read: 4 days

Classic: of racist "humor", maybe
