This was a quick read; started it this morning and finished by supper.


Not entirely sure why this is a "classic". It's not a bad novel at all but it is nothing special. And the ending is predictable.


My best friend died in an accident when he was 9 and it tore his family apart. I can see how that happened in this novel. I don't think the relationship between Macon and Muriel made any sense at all - mostly he seemed to judge her and she just did her thing. I guess some people like that lol
