So, someone lent this to me and I read it without realizing it was on my reading list lol I read it maybe a year or so ago. I really loved it! It is a fantastic novel. The guy who lent it to me is also Hispanic and raised by immigrant parents, which meant the novel resonated with him. My family has been in the US more than 300 years. What resonated with me was how Oscar didnt fit in because he was a nerd and dreamer. And fat. All true of me. Clearly, Diaz was writing from experience. Great novel!
