It is only by chance I picked up a novel about 9/11 on the anniversary of the attacks. Overall, I did not like this novel. Mainly because he used an unusual mechanic: you, the reader, are an identified character. It is written as though you are an American "businessman" having tea with the narrator in Lahore. I didn't like that at all, I found it annoying and trite. Also at one point he referred to a breast as "succulent". Ew.


The story itself isn't bad but I did not like how it was written.


Also, there is almost nothing about religion in it and the main character never actually becomes a fundamentalist so I'm confused about the title.
